Black History Quest
Oregon Black Pioneers presents Black History Quest! Every other month a different History Investigator reveals the hidden stories behind select materials from the OBP research files. In each episode we’ll learn about the challenges and surprises of doing historical research, and try to answer the question: how can one source change history?
Letitia Carson Digital History Collection
Oregon Black Pioneers is one of the partner organizations behind the Letitia Carson Legacy Project, which aims to preserve the land and story of Oregon’s first Black female homesteader. Together we produced the Letitia Carson Digital History Collection, a comprehensive archive of the sources related to her unique life story.
Snap Shots
Snap Shots are short video segments documenting the travels of the Oregon Black Pioneers team as we visit communities across the state. Each episode reveals the hidden Black history in Oregon’s favorite places.
Meeting the Sewells
An unsuspecting museum-goer finds himself transported back in time, coming face to face with resourceful settlers Columbus and Louisa Sewell, Central Oregon’s first Black couple. Meeting the Sewells is a video collaboration with High Desert Museum.
