Our Approach

Any course on Oregon history that overlooks the contributions of Black Oregonians is incomplete! Our thematic units invite students to explore how Black pioneers, community leaders, and activists shaped Oregon’s past. Through primary sources, inquiry, discussion, and creative assessments, students build civic thinking skills while connecting stories of resilience and resistance to our present-day.

All materials are standards-aligned, classroom-ready, and designed to support diverse learners. And, they are all free to use!
