Welcome Board President LC Miller

My name is Lenice Miller, though many people know me as LC. I’m originally from Virginia and North Carolina, shaped by a few places in between, and now proudly call Oregon home. At my core, I’m a sister, a daughter, a dog mom, and a friend. My move to Portland wasn’t something I carefully planned, but it became one of the most meaningful decisions of my life. I was told more than once that Black transplants don’t always stay long here, so I made a conscious choice to put down roots, build relationships, and invest in community. Oregon became home because I chose it, and because people showed up for me along the way.

Professionally, I’ve spent over a decade working in IT project and program management, helping organizations and people use technology in ways that are practical, human, and impactful. I currently work as a Technical Program Manager, leading Salesforce and other technology initiatives in the staffing industry. While my career is rooted in systems and structure, my passion has always been about people—how we learn, adapt, and move forward together.

As Board President of Oregon Black Pioneers, I’m excited to help strengthen the organization’s visibility and reach across the state. My goal is for Oregon Black Pioneers to be a trusted and familiar name whenever Black history—past or present—is discussed in Oregon. I’m looking forward to listening, learning, and growing alongside Black communities statewide, honoring those who came before us while uplifting the pioneers still shaping Oregon today. This role is about stewardship, storytelling, and ensuring our history is protected, shared, and understood as Oregon continues to change.

When I’m not working or volunteering, you can usually find me out in the community, connecting with folks—or roller skating at Oaks Park.
